I purchased a standard subnado. I took it out for the first time today. I weigh 250 lbs and six foot three. I felt like it scooted me around pretty good for my weight and for being a standard model.

I purchased my second Subnado and used it with my family and then as a tandem set up so that I could experience real speed. Can’t wait to take it back to Hawaii and go through the Waimea Bay rock tunnel. This allows to navigate through tighter spaces without the need for wide strokes with arms and legs for acceleration.

The reason this isn’t a 5 star rating is because I weigh 220lbs. I used 2 subnado’s, tested their 25 yard split times to see how fast they are: Here are the results……Speed 1:(23.11sec.) Speed 2:(16.71sec.) Speed 3:(12.16sec.) Speed 1: is useless for a man weighing 200+lbs. It just doesn’t do the job. Speed 2: also isn’t much fun. It’s better than nothing. Speed 3: is a whole lot of fun. However, it doesn’t last long enough. I’m being very critical. These are really fun toys. They are great for spear fishing. The only way, to wear these is on your legs. They are absolutely great when you have them harnessed around your calves. They are also fun on your arms. Speed 3, still isn’t as fast as a great pair of flippers. I’m hopeful that Waydoo creates a new Subnado Pro that puts out double the propulsion! These would be epic! Overall: These are an absolute blast. If you have kids. BUY THEM! ALL ADULTS: MUST BUY 2. 1, just doesn’t have the power. GREAT FUN. Travel friendly, super easy to charge, easy to use, easy everything. Beautiful design. Thank you for your product! Super cool!

I lost the use of my legs due to Covid. I could not propel myself underwater scuba diving. With over 700 dives, that was devistating for me. I saw the add for Waydoous and gave it a try. I bought 2 so that I could do multiple dives in a day between charging. THEY WORK PERFECTLY!! Way easy to carry, handle and use under the water. Waydoous have restored my ability to scuba dive.

It has a good amount of thrust. Don't compare it to a 75 lb. propulsion vehicle. However, it weighs only six pounds and provides travel friendly thrust that can stretch out your swim or dive to get you out to the reef or down the river. I have traveled with it overseas in my daypack several time and never got hassled in airport security. I take it out snorkeling on the beach and everyone wants to try it. I use it to get me down to the bottom leaving me with more bottom time to take pictures and quickly come back up. I can scoot on over to the next area with little effort and shoot back down to the bottom. I have used in during seaches wearing full dive gear to glide over my grid area faster. It has been well worth the money.

I already have two standards that work great and ordered two additional standard subnados less than a month ago and now I see them for $59 cheaper so I have been ripped off $118. for the two I purchased on 10/20/25
Could I get a credit?

I’m an avid scuba diver, and the Subnado is a game changer. Mounted with the (optional, extra cost) tank bracket, it’s an awesome—and powerful—tool. And fun! BUT, they’ve got an issue with the thumb controllers. I have four Subnados, and the thumb controllers on all of them have failed. The unit itself has a one-year warranty, but the thumb controller’s warranty is only six months. It seems like they haven’t perfected the seal on the controller plug, and despite greasing the o-rings regularly, the little connector pins keep getting green oxidation, and then the controller stops working. It’s just a matter of time. Their warranty service is pretty good (Arts is super friendly and responsive), but lately their auto-reply e-mail says it’ll take some time, since they’re very busy with after-sales warranty work. Probably not a great sign….
In summary, great product with a seeming defect that requires regularly buying $35 replacement controllers. Hopefully they can fix it soon. Seems like they must be aware of it since for the new Subnado Plus, they advertise it as having better waterproof connectors.

Snagged two of them and quite pleased with the purchase…have a large pool and everyone, at first use, surface stoked, grinning ear to ear. Suggest adding a “bumper guard” on the bottom of the nose to prevent scratches and dings when placing on concrete and other abrasive surfaces.

Bought Subnado on a whim… paired it with a kickboard thinking it would be fun for a week max. My son wound up loving it and it’s come to every vacation with us now. Love that the battery is small enough capacity to go on planes.

Recently took our Subnados to Grand Cayman. They allowed us to shore dive out to the Wall for amazing and memorable dives. The extra time on site was worth the cost and effort.

Ordered two Subnados for a Carribean vacation and have put them to the test. Very impressed: plenty of power and run time between charges is good.
Used separately and had no trouble towing a 3rd by hanging onto ankles.
With the double grip (a must have) in 3rd gear it goes really fast! Recommend purchasing that in the package. Just ordered a 2nd pair. NOTE: order a 100 watt charging block for each (Anker from Amazon). You will want the fastest re-charge possible!
