I've been riding the Voyager 1100 front wing for almost a year now and I just tried the new Glider 1100. I typically ride between 20-22mph constantly doing S-turns. Here are my initial impressions:
1) LIft: The G-1100 wing does provide slightly better lift than the V-1100. I typically start in gear 14 to get foiling and I was able to dial it down one gear on the G-1100.
2) Carving: I noticed that I had to press a bit harder with my feet to make the board turn, but after a couple of laps I was carving just the same as I carve with the V-1100.
3) Speed: From the get go I had no problems riding at the same speed I normally ride, 20-22mph
4) Stability, i.e., pitch control: Initially I had to put more effort controlling my pitch, but after making some adjustments to my foot stance, eventually I got the hang of it, and I felt in as much or more pitch control than with the V-1100.
5) Breaching friendliness: After riding for over an hour, I don't recall breaching a single time. I typically breach or get very close to it a few times during my rides with the V-1100.
6) Efficiency: Riding the way I typically ride with my V-1100, I would say the G-1100 appeared to be a little bit more efficient (~5%) than the V-1100.
In conclusion, this wing exceeded my expectations and I look forward to getting more ride time with it. Given its current relatively low price, I think that for anyone looking to progress to a smaller wing for faster riding and more agile turning, this is the wing to get. And if you already own a V-1100, this would make a great additional wing to have as a spare, or just to experience a little different ride.
