How to Get Your eFoil in and Out of the Water
Launching an eFoil safely comes down to a few practical checks: choose a route with enough water, prepare the board on dry ground, carry it without striking the foil, and know how you will bring it back out.
For the Flyer EVO, the user manual calls for at least 1.5 m / 5 ft of water. It also says to avoid people, boats, floating objects, gravel, plants, wildlife, bad weather, riptides, and undercurrents. Use those requirements when choosing both your launch route and your return route.
Check the Launch and Return Route
Walk the route before carrying the eFoil down. Check the shoreline, the operating area, and the place where you expect to come back out.
Look for:
- enough depth along the entire route, not just one deep spot;
- rocks, reef, sandbars, weeds, lines, posts, debris, swimmers, and boat traffic;
- firm footing and enough room to carry or lower the board in control;
- changes in tide, current, shore break, wind, or wake;
- a return route that will still work when you are tired or conditions change.
Do not plan to drag the mast, wings, or drive across the bottom. If reaching deep water requires contact with rocks, sand, concrete, or dock hardware, choose another launch point.
Prepare the eFoil on Dry Ground
Assemble and inspect the eFoil on a dry, stable surface. Keep the remote off or the trigger locked while carrying and positioning the board. Check the board, mast, wings, drive, fasteners, seals, and electrical contacts. Fix loose hardware or visible damage before entering the water.
Flyer EVO Lite, Pro Plus, and Max Plus use lightweight EPP eFoil boards, making them practical for repeated carrying, loading, and dockside handling. The Flyer EVO Master Plus uses a lighter, performance-focused Kevlar board instead. Whichever model you have, keep the board and foil away from hard edges rather than relying on the material to absorb a strike.
Install and remove the Powerflight Battery on dry ground, not while the board is floating. Keep the battery terminals, mast terminals, and sensor ports clean and dry, and do not place the battery directly on sand.
Decide whether you need another person before you start carrying. Get help if the route is slippery, narrow, steep, high above the water, or crowded with rails, cleats, and other obstacles. Do not improvise lifting points with ropes, straps, or dock fittings.

Launching From a Beach, Ramp, or Boat
Beach
A beach works well when it has a clear path to deep water and mild shore break. It works poorly when the tide leaves a long shallow section, the bottom is rocky, or waves can push the foil into the sand.
Set the board down only on a surface that will not scrape it. For propeller-equipped setups, keep the propeller guard fitted. Carry or guide the board until the foil has full clearance, but do not use propulsion to cross shallow, uninspected water.
Ramp or steps
A ramp may shorten the carry, but wet concrete, gravel, algae, and metal edges create new hazards. Use it only if you have stable footing and can keep the foil away from the ramp. Avoid narrow steps that force you to twist the board or hold it over a hard edge.
Keep clear of trailers, boats, and other ramp users. If you cannot enter and return without hitting the board or foil, use a different access point.
Boat or swim platform
Turn off the vessel's propulsion before moving the eFoil near the stern. Keep the board away from propellers, rails, ladders, cleats, and sharp fittings. Use a stable handling method approved for the board and suited to the boat's layout.
Do not launch if the board must be squeezed through a narrow opening or lifted from an unverified attachment point. The person handling the board should have secure footing while the vessel remains as still as possible.

How Do You Launch an eFoil From a Dock Without Damaging It?
First check the depth beside the dock and along the departure path. Then check the dock height, pilings, ladders, cleats, lines, sharp edges, current, wake, and traffic.
Use the dock only if you can lower the board in control, keep the foil clear of the bottom and structure, and recover it by the same route. A second person may be needed to steady the board or keep it away from the dock.
Do not install or remove the battery while the board is floating. Do not lower the eFoil with an improvised rope or sling. If the dock is too high, exposed to wake, or surrounded by obstacles, use a lower swim platform, ramp, or beach instead.

Put the eFoil in the Water and Start Riding
Keep the controller off until you are in the water and ready to use the eFoil. Move the board into water deep enough for the foil, then position yourself away from the beach, ramp, dock, boat, and other people before powering up.
Do not use the motor to push through shallow water. If the foil does not have enough clearance, reposition the board without letting the mast, wings, or drive hit the bottom. Water depth can change with tide, waves, and uneven terrain, so leave more room than the mast length alone suggests. For more detail, see What eFoil Mast Length Should I Choose?.
Keep hands and other body parts clear of the propulsion system whenever it is powered. New riders can follow How to eFoil for the basic riding sequence and Is eFoiling Dangerous? for protective gear and general safety guidance.

Retrieve, Shut Down, Rinse, and Inspect
Head back before the battery runs low and while the return route is still usable. Slow down before entering the shallow or crowded area, turn off the remote, and bring the board out without letting the foil strike the bottom or access structure.
For the Flyer EVO, remove the board from the water before turning off the battery. Then remove the battery, wings, and power unit as directed in the manual. Rinse sand, salt, and dirt from the board and parts, and let the connectors dry before storage.
Check for scrapes, impact marks, loose fasteners, trapped sand, or damage to the mast, wings, drive, guard, seals, and connectors. If a part or handling method is not covered by the manual, confirm it with Waydoo before the next session.
